Cannot edit child's date of birth

Hi,

I am trying to edit my child's date of birth but I am having the same problem as many, many others in that I just get an error message saying to contact support. Trying to get help from these people is like trying to get blood from a stone. Why am I unable to edit my own child's information?

Does anyone know a workaround?

Thank-you

Online support actually can't help you with this issue, the way to get this one fixed requires in-person customer service. I'm order to get their birth date changed in Meta's system your child will have to show up in person to Meta headquarters in Menlo Park, CA with both the original birth certificate and a valid state driver's license. As the parent parent account holder, you will also have to be present and have the same legal documentation for yourself. Once they've verified both your documents they will give you the waiver for the DNA exam, and if that comes back that showing that it truly is your child they will update the account information at that point.

If your child isn't old enough to have a legal driver's license yet, then they will have to wait anyway, because this process is something you need to a legal adult to initiate. The good news is that we'll give them plenty of time to make sure they have that driver's license.

... this is around 30% sarcasm. I'm sorry you're having this problem. It's insane to me that Facebook/Meta has turned into such a strict dictatorship of identity verification and personal information control.

I'm fairly certain my own insane support issue of metta not allowing me to add any sort of payment method or make any sort of purchase with my account has something to do with having previously used the same email address I created The Meta account with to sign up for Facebook, and being unable to send them a photo. My own driver's license when they insisted on verifying my real identity simply because I made a Facebook account to browse the marketplace because I'd lost my wallet and had to wait roughly a month for my state to physically mail me a replacement. While I was waiting for my ID to show up in the mail so I could prove my identity to Facebook, they permanently closed the account... So my email address logs into meta and Oculus just fine. And I even have an Oculus developer account with a verified identity... But trying to use the same email address to log into. Facebook tells me my account has been permanently suspended for failing to prove my identity. This and somehow this is some thing that no one in Facebook or the Meta Store support has been able to do anything about. So I bought a $500 VR headset and they won't let me use any of my credit cards or PayPal to purchase any of the software. They won't even let me spend the $30 of quest cash they gave me as part of a promo for buying the headset.

It's Facebook. I don't understand when they started feeling so high and mighty that they began to feel that they have the right to demand. We all verify our identities and ages and every detail of our personal lives to them and can't even make simple corrections. I can't think of another company in person or online where you would be having this issue of being unable to change your child's birth date. o_O

Sorry for the rant, hope you get this solved so your kid can get back to having fun. 🙂
