Cannot send or receive messages on the oculus messaging software. PLEASE HELP

this includes phone app and built in oculus, my friend broke their phone recently and has no other way to contact us because they are going to a different state for the rest of summer and if this doesn't get fixed and I get logged put of my account which I do not remember the password to, I may never see them again. Please someone help me.

well, when I go to text her, it just says: can't send message. and then in front of those three words is a little cirlce with an x in it that has a person next to it.

Hi there! We would love to assist you with this messaging issue. Here are some steps we would like for you to try to get things right!

 

We first recommend you to re-pair your Oculus Quest 2 to your Phone? Please try to perform the following:
 

  • Ensure the phone's Bluetooth is turned on and the headset is turned on.
  • Clear the Bluetooth cache on the phone
  • Power cycle the phone and the headset. Check the steps here on how to reboot your headset.
  • Uninstall and reinstall the Oculus application on the phone once again.
  • Ensure the phone and headset are connected to the same wireless network.
  • Factory reset the headset after activating the Cloud Backup

Me and my cousin have the same problem, this did not help.

ok so recently i cannot for some reason message or even invite my friend or son to a game. can't message either. says can't message this person? why? never had this issue. I've tried everything possible even chat support can't find an answer to as why this is still an issue and its very displeasing.

unfortunately, even the own company can't give a fix for this. resetting the Bluetooth and factory reset is a waist of time and a pain.

Heya @SkinniyP. We know how frustrating it can be to not have the chance to message your friends. We don't want you or anyone to have a problem like this. If you haven't already please try the troubleshooting steps that we provided in the earlier.

Is meta just a bot? They always say factory reset but I think the problem is you followed them and they accepted the follow request but didn’t follow back so your not friends and if you have a private account it’s just so annoying
