I tried this on the website AND on the mobile meta quest app, in both cases it says there has been a unknown error and i cannot upload the image. I tried a different format and a different image all together and it will not work.
I noticed that since i stopped playing for the last 2 weeks, my avatar was removed. So i tried to get my avatar back, but now bump against this "unknown error".
