Just going to throw my cry among the rest!

HELP!!!!

I'm already going to have to contact Amazon about a replacement because one of my controllers is defected.

Really Loud Mouse Clicks and BATTERY life diminishes extremely quickly, and I've barely used it...

I hope this issue gets resolved because I just purchased a third sensor and was finally enjoying developing in VR Mode in UE4

I'd hate to go VIVE I heard they have many software and hardware issues also and support seems to be a nightmare...

I don't need that stress

From all my research Vive seemed to be the better product. I only picked up the rift because it was cheap and I wanted to be sure I'd enjoy VR before investing in a Vive Pro, whenever they release it.

I own a vive as well, and I wouldn't trust that research much.
On paper, yes the tracking solution seem better, and it is less prone to USB bandwidth issues.
But build quality, and the awkwardness, steamvr has needed all this time simply to catch up in reliabillity.
For the first months having to run full room recalibration every two hours of use was the norm.

Lensflares aren't good, but the ringing on the vive lenses are no better, besides the vive area of actual focus is significantly smaller than the rift.
To the point now, the vive is tucked in a box and not used in a year.
To unreliable, to wonky and honestly not swell.

Might take it out of the box now though since oculus shit the bed with this cert.

Most of my research was done on the last 3 months. So perhaps it is worth dusting it off. :expressionless:

I got mine just 4 hours ago, I'm not kidding !  :'(

when we can actually get back in, we should all friend each other for games.. we can look back and laugh at how we met... or cry... either way.

Well fix is to reset clock on your system 2 days back or something since it's an expired certificate. Needs a new one from Oculus.

Really? Oh man oO

Yup... works Oo

You really shouldn't mess with the time on your computer... It'll mess with software installation and create more problems. Just wait for Oculus to release a fix.

Don't waste your time with this kind of ppl, they don't read anything in this topic and just want to play, even if it's dangerous for the computer...  😐

I'm curious... What's the purpose of the security ticket, and why can't I just use SteamVR without running Oculus Home?

Or even just run it offline.

If this outtage lasts over this evening and into tomorrow, I hope someone considers a class-action lawsuit to compensate the entire Rift community.  I also hope that everyone is posting about this on Facebook and other social media. Not renewing the certificate could, MAYBE, be forgiven, but the absolute lack of outreach from the company is ludicrous.  We are expected to be satisfied with the few sentences they have issued online?  I wasted several hours this morning, rebooting, reinstalling, checking hardware, before I got wise and checked out the boards.  Now we wait an indeterminate amount of time for resolution?  BULLSHIT.  Oculus needs to own this prioritize the fix and get the word out.

And the irony of it finally passing the VIVE....LOL.

Use RunAsDate to start Oculus/Support/oculus-runtime/OVRServer_x64 instead of fucking around with your system Time/Date settings.

https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/run_as_date.html

This was posted before, but I can play just fine with the little prog "RunAsDate".
https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/run_as_date.html
-Stop the "OVRService" in Task-Manager->Services
-Copy the files from the "runasdate-x64.zip" in the "...\Oculus\Support\oculus-runtime" folder.
-Run "RunAsDate.exe" inside the folder.
-Click "Browse..." to choose the "OVRServer_x64.exe".
-Under "Date/Time" I chose 07.03.2018 03:00:00.
-Tick the box "Immediate Mode...".
-Click "Run".
-Start the Oculus Client.
This works just fine for me and you don't risk to get issues with other programs as it doesn't change the system time.

I can get Oculus Home to run with this, but it won't send video to my headset. I get sound alright. The plugs are in properly and all.
SteamVR and Oculus Home games won't run in the headset.
