I have the same problem, I have uninstalled/ Installed multiple times but still not working. I saw an earlier reply that one should submit a ticket and they would be helped in a Jiffy...I'm going on 3 days with no answer.

Hey all, thanks for reaching out to us and letting us know you're getting this error. The Oculus App Status error can be a tricky one, but we'll do our best to help! There's a few things that we can do in order to narrow down potential causes, let's try those first.

First, let's check if you're attempting to use any remote desktop software to attempt to run the Oculus software. Oculus software should be ran on the native machine and not through remote desktop software, otherwise you're bound to run into issues like this one here. If you aren't running any remote desktop software, let's move on to the next step.

Next, let's see if there's any driver updates. Drivers that are behind in updates can start to cause issues with software, whether it be lacking support or the software implementing new features that the current driver doesn't support yet. Make sure all of your drivers are up to date before moving on to the next step.

Lastly, ensure that you're running your WIFI off of a strong, stable connection and not a hotspot or anything similar. You might also need to temporarily disable any real-time scanning features that may be running. Additionally, you should try resetting your modem or router, if you access to it.

We also want to make sure in addition to this, the Oculus service is running correctly in the Microsoft Services Console. We've included steps below on how to check that:

  1. Open the Microsoft Services Console (Start > Search > services.msc)

  2. Verify the Oculus VR Runtime Service status is Running (If the service is not Running: Right click “Oculus VR Runtime Service then select “Start.”)

  3. Verify the Oculus VR Runtime Service Startup type is Automatic (no delayed start)

  4. If the service startup type is not showing Automatic: Right click “Oculus VR Runtime Service,” Select “Properties,” change Startup Type to “Automatic”

If all else fails, follow up with us in a PM with any ticket numbers you have, update any open email tickets you have with your Oculus Logs and we'll do our best to make it right. If you haven't opened a support ticket or your existing tickets are closed, you can submit a new one here and we'll merge it with your previous requests to get it open again. We truly appreciate your passion and the feedback is humbling, which drives us to do better. Cheers!
