Thanks for reaching back out to let us know you tried to re-pair with the mobile app.
Regarding the headset settings, when you're trying to access them is it from the admin account of the headset? Please keep in mind the headset must be paired with the app before being able to do so.
Along with those, could you please try the following:
Let us know if that seems to help out, we'll be patiently awaiting your update!

Thanks for getting back to let us know. Correct, we would be referring to the battery within the controllers if you're using Rift/S/Quest/2 controllers.
If you're using Quest Pro controllers, there will not be a way to remove the battery.
Along with this, could you and your brother try to uninstall and reinstall the mobile app from your phones in order to attempt a fresh pairing of each headset?
We'll be awaiting your update!
