Casting screen too high

When I cast my quest 3 through chromecast to my TV the screen shown is too high and does not show the lower portion of what I am viewing. Since I am using the cast the teach friends to fly in VR I need to see the lower instrument panel more than the outside view!

How do I control this?

I swapped over to using my iPad instead of iPhone and the picture is much more centralised. I did not need to change the chromecast device.

Hi there, @Maverickman! We know running into issues casting can really take the fun out of VR, so we'd be glad to lend a hand with that! As of now, we do want to let you know that Chromecast isn't fully supported with the Meta Quest devices. If your TV has built-in Chromecast or other smart functionalities, you may still be able to cast to it through the Meta Quest mobile app. Though, we can't guarantee compatibility with all models. That said, we would love to see if we can get that working for you, so please try out the following for us when you get a chance:

 

  • Try Casting with another phone, if possible.
  • Try to Cast from another app (Netflix, Spotify, YouTube) altogether, to help confirm it is not he app specifically causing this issue. Do any other apps/environments have this issue?
  • Please ensure all 3 devices are on the exact same network. (ex. If the router has a 5GHZ and 2GHZ channel, all the devices must be on the same channel)
  • Try Casting to Computer and/or Casting to Phone. This will help us narrow the cause down, and make sure it is not a casting issue all around. 

 

While our Quest headsets typically work very well with most Chromecast devices, as we are not the manufacturer we can't always guarantee 100% functionality. If you're still running into issues from here, we highly suggest reaching out to the Chromecast Help Center for the absolute best assistance with this. Should any further problems pop up, please be sure to reach out at anytime!

The Gaim app cast view is to low on my phone and my laptop.
