Having to use an account based phone app to then share to a display is pretty subpar. This needs to be fixed, pronto. If possible, why not make it compatible with AirPlay? That would probably make compatibility with most displays even easier than Chromecast.
Here is an example, I would like to provide a headset to a student to learn on. But would also like to have the instructor view the screen. If my quest is managed (which all 40 of them are), then I would have to provide my account information to someone that shouldn't have it (or even need it in the first place). I makes an incredibly unshareable experience and and unuseable education tool.
There must be in headset casting that DOES NOT REQUIRE ANY OTHER DEVICE for confirmation or routing. If I am coherent enough to put the Quest on and navigate to the casting button, then we can confidently say that it was my intention to cast.

Hello again! As we mentioned previously, casting directly to a Chromecast device or TV is not fully supported by Meta and may not work with some Chromecast devices or TVs. Meta does not have a list of which devices or TVs will or will not work. If casting to a computer and/or phone works but casting directly to a Chromecast device or TV does not, the problem is likely device compatibility. While we acknowledge this is not the response you were hoping for, you can click here to learn more about casting. Please feel free to reach out to us again if you have any other questions, and we will be more than happy to assist you!

Hello there! We understand that you are trying to cast it on TV for educational purposes, and you mentioned some ideas regarding having to use an account-based phone app to share the app. We understand that Meta does not yet have the capability to fully support casting directly to a Chromecast device or TV and may or may not work with some Chromecast devices or TVs, and as of now, we only have the option to cast to a computer or phone. We would love for you to click here to share your ideas and suggestions for improvements to hardware or software. Remember, you can always reach out to us if you come across any other questions, and we would be happy to answer to the best of our abilities!

"We understand that Meta does not yet have the capability to fully support casting directly to a Chromecast device or TV" Is a flat out lie... Chromecast has worked flawlessly until very recently and it it still works on my android phone. I understand that this is a copy and paste response because the helpdesk message that I received from Meta support said the same thing word for word. (see screenshot)
It was working and now it is not working. This is the issue that I am raising.Support Response
