Casting to browser: Missing Options & Distorted Audio

Yesterday, streaming to the Google Chrome web browser is blocked in widescreen mode, with no possibility of switching to 4:3 mode as before today. What's more, the audio quality is suddenly very poor.
 
I reset my quest 3 and all options were present and back. No more sound problems. I turned off the headset which told me that it would perform an update before extienction and now, I have again the same result (no more choice between 4:3 and 16:9, no more microphone option and a very bad sound quality). This bug is only present on cast to browser, I don't have any problem on chromecast (sound offset but this bug has been present for years now and known on the meta side).

Is anyone else experiencing this problem? Could you remedy it, and if so, how?

You dont think its maybe 3 months late for your BULLSHI*?

How about instead of doing nothing like you've been doing for months now, you answer any of my questions ?! If you won't answer a single question which you havent, WHAT IS THE TIMEFRAME HERE? How much longer until this is resolved? I can't believe its been months of this stupidity

Hey everyone! After discussing a bit more with engineering, it looks like they weren't able to replicate the microphone volume issue. They determined that the issue more than likely stems from the following factors:

  • The headset not being properly adjusted and donned on the user's head.
  • An accessory interfering physically with the microphone.
  • The user is not talking loud enough, and should try talking louder.

If you've confirmed that the headset is fully donned, nothing is interfering with the microphone, and that you're talking at a reasonable volume for the microphone, I highly recommend reaching out to @MetaQuestSupport in a private message to look into further options!

let me clarify few things: 

1. when I speak during the stream, my squad mates hear me fine. The problem is ONLY in the stream. 
2. I have been talking with many streamers that have that problem. Do you really assume that everyone's headset got malfunction at the same date? Do you think everyone's having issues physically?

Are you kidding me? That is utterly dissapointing....

-The Headset sits correctly. It's just when streaming that the microphone is not picked up, or has a low volume and this issue appeared, when YOU guys removed the option from streaming to adjust the volume...

- Which accessory? I only use the Quest....

- NOT LOUD ENOUGH? Boy...im yelling and you can only ever make out a slight whisper in the stream...


After all this you not only not solved the issue but ignored it all the time and now this is the conclusion? 

I wanted a solution....the solution was, that the old system worked and something broke when Meta removed and changed options for streaming. And if you would have a Quest then you could just test this....This is all pointless. 😞

i just read all 14 pages of this post, and i am really not impressed by META technical support. i cannot believe that after 3 months we get a reply from META stating the exact same steps as day 1 with "our engineer could not replicate the issue". are you fk kidding me? i was promoting Quest 3 so people around me would pick it up, not anymore, good bye Quest, has been fun but im selling it before the price dumps. GGWP.

Agreed with the last 2 posts by Eispfogel & Mewing, you guys should just really compare the actual problems vs the previous system before they removed and changed options for streaming, those were all unnecesary changes. That would be the real solution.

In behalf of all of us frustrated streamers here who replied to your post, are we going to get any answer from you guys?

How can it be that all of us are stating the exact same thing, that on the exact date, on the exact update you guys made, you broke the sound being picked up?

Why can't you (or the dev teams) reach us? do a focus group on ZOOM or something and we can all figure it out?

I'm available when needed and I'm sure all the other streamers will make themselves available if needed in order to resolve this.

 

Please, take this into considerations as there are no other options for us to stream with.
