Casting to browser: Missing Options & Distorted Audio

Yesterday, streaming to the Google Chrome web browser is blocked in widescreen mode, with no possibility of switching to 4:3 mode as before today. What's more, the audio quality is suddenly very poor.

I reset my quest 3 and all options were present and back. No more sound problems. I turned off the headset which told me that it would perform an update before extienction and now, I have again the same result (no more choice between 4:3 and 16:9, no more microphone option and a very bad sound quality). This bug is only present on cast to browser, I don't have any problem on chromecast (sound offset but this bug has been present for years now and known on the meta side).

Is anyone else experiencing this problem? Could you remedy it, and if so, how?

Hey everyone! I came across this one and noticed a few of you were experiencing some audio distortion when casting to PC. Having crisp, clean audio is a big part of any media viewing experience, so I wanted to pop in to get more information to see if I can't get a pair of eyes on it from our engineering team to look into.

• Can you check your headset's current version?
  
  • You can check in Quick Settings > Settings > Software Update under the Current Version Details section. The formatting should be 65.#.#.###.###.#########.
• Does this happen when casting to any other sources?
  • Mobile app, Smart TV, Chromecast, etc.
• Which browser are you casting to on your PC?
• Which Quest device are you casting?
• Are both devices on the same frequency? Which frequency are they on?
  • 2.4Ghz, 5Ghz, 6Ghz

  • Has anyone else found any workarounds?

Hey again! With the recent rollout of V65, our engineering team wants to confirm if there's any noticeable difference when casting with V65. If you're still experiencing the issue on V65, can you re-confirm your version number?

Yes, I am having an identical issue with the changes to the browser(options blocked except microphone) and with the audio now being distorted and choppy.

I should add that I have no idea how to fix it. Since it was a change that I did not make, it will probably have to be a change made to fix whatever they broke.

Same issue and just started a few days ago. I can't stream anything now because of the horric distorion on the audio. I also noticed the MIC and Sceen ratio options have dissappeared. Rebooting it does not help and it does not matter what game I play its an issue. Casting from Meta Quest 3 to PC Computer to Chrome. Used to work great now its terrible. Please help!!

Hi , I have started having the same issues when casting to the Oculus Browser, Video looks good but sound is now destorted and unusable. This has only juts started as we have uploaded many VR videos in the past without issues.

Headset fully up to date, Both PC/Headset on 5g network. I have factory rest headset and still th esame issue. Works fine casting to mobile app but not PC (which I need for OBS recording) Never had an issue until now and the Cast app is missing the Mic/setting icons like the pics in original post.

This must be a software issue? 

Please fix asap or atleast let us know your working on and know its an issue!

without the ability to cast it stops it being a family pastime to a solo thing so it just means we dont play it - v sad we miss our metaquest weekends ...come on guys sort it out

All of these are covered below but 5ghz same network , casting to PC with chrome (not chromecast) mobile app is ok just PC casting is he issue , metaquest 3 software 64.0.0.508.370.586682934. chrome version Version 124.0.6367.91 (Official Build) (64-bit)
