Certain audio on recording with oculus 2 playback gone

For about a week, everytime I record the audio of other people talking is not in my recording. You can only hear me and the in game audio on the recording. While playing, you can hear them just fine. I am a content creator and this is killing me. My mic is switched on every time. I do not use any third party recording software, just what is built into the Oculus 2. I have tried a hard reboot as well as a factory reset and neither worked. I have heard from other content creators they are having the same issue. It doesn't matter what game I am playing, but my go to's are; Population One, Vegas Infinite and Walkabout Mini Golf. I do not have any app labs games. I have two Oculus 2's, one 64gb and one 256gb and issue is on both. I tried hard reboot and factory reset on both, still no go. I have opened email with support, multiple chats with support and finally a phone call with support (#06373554). 

I have tried everything I know of. Oculus email hasn't gotten back to me after I told them I tried all the steps and it has been about 3 days. Oculus chat said I need to buy a new refurbished headset (because I was out of warranty) and after explaining multiple times I have 2 already and other content creators are also have issue I was mysteriously disconnected and not chat log or ticket # was sent to me. The last phone call I got the wonderful lady said she will send it up to next level but that was 2 days ago. I am desperate as I haven't posted new content because of this!! Help please!

did you ever end up fixing this. ive been trying to record and the exact same thing is happening to me and its been really frustrating.

Before we look into alternative options for your headset, can you confirm if you've attempted some of the following troubleshooting options:

 

- Hard reboot the headset.
1. Turn off your headset completely.
2. Hold the power and volume (-) button on your headset down simultaneously until the boot screen loads on your headset.
3. Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Boot Device and press the power button.
4. Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Yes and press the power button.

- Test with multiple games/apps.
- Check app settings.
- Reset Microphone (Settings > System > Sound > Toggle Microphone)

yes I have tried these and tested it with multiple games this didn't fix the problem I was having

Are you attempting to record people in the same party chat as you, or just other online players? 

 

If you haven't already, we highly suggest making sure your headset is completely up-to-date. To manually check for software updates, follow these steps:

  1. Press the Meta/Oculus button on your right Touch controller to pull up your universal menu.
  2. Hover over the clock on the left-hand side of the universal menu. When Quick settings appears, select it to open the Quick settings panel.
  3. Select Settings in the top right-hand corner.
  4. Select System, then select Software update from the left menu.

From here, you can check your current software version. If a new version is available, a button to download the update will appear.

 

We also recommend using the Report a Problem feature from your device to alert our team about this issue.

I am trying to record other online players. also there wasn't an update available the headset was up to date
