Change region on Horizon App - Error message

Hi. I need to change regions of my headset through the oculus app, because I travel a lot and cannot use hyperscape as it’s suddenly “not available in my region”  

I’ve looked through forums but I can’t believe that Meta requires written letters with residency scans if you simply travel with the headset. That can’t be true, right? The same Meta connecting the world?

Thank you for letting us know the issue. We can see you are having some problem while changing the region.

The best and easy method is to do a factory reset the device  and then set it up with the region you're in.

Notes:

Performing a factory reset is irreversible and will remove all account information, downloaded games and content from the headset.
Performing a factory reset won't remove content you've purchased or downloaded from your account.

Thank you for your info. That means that region can only be changed with device reset or by manually messaging the support team?

Is there a way to “reset the device” via my iOS app?

In terms of new Meta app Hyperscape, how can I see which region I need to go to be able to use it?

Hi @Hoompalompa,

No, the reset cannot be done through IOS app. You need to do it through the device

Turn off your headset. Hold the power and volume (-) button on your headset down simultaneously until the boot screen loads on your headset. Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Factory reset and press the power button. Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Yes and press the power button.

 

You can use your device in any region.

Why region is important:

If in case you are having any issue with your device and need an replacement(if it is under warranty)then you need to be in the Meta supported region.

Sorry for reminding, I meant “how can I know what region should I be in, in order to use Hyperscape app from Meta?” Or this is confidential info?

The hyperspace can be used only in the US region at the moment.
