My child’s account was suddenly flagged and disappeared. Now meta is demanding government issued ID or some kind of photo id to reinstate a child (under 18’s) account. His account was tied to mine under parental surveillance. Clearly my credit card and PayPal have been used for purchases on his acount including less than 24 hours before “suspicious activity” was detected. Uploading a child’s picture or government ID of anyone under 18 is a bit of overreach especially when the person in question is tied to an adult’s account. How can I get in touch with someone to assist in the issue?
The issue in question was caused by me-I accidentally changed his age by accident.

It's completely insane how Facebook has become some kind of dictator s about identity verification. They want every single personal detail about all of us and want photos of our government IDs. To to post some stupid update on Facebook, or play a video game. I don't understand why they feel they have the right to act this way. It's a child account and your account is set as the parent/guardian overseeing it. It's not their business if you change your kids age and birthday and name twice a week. They need to make sure that supervised accounts of minors follow the policies and restrictions for whatever age. Their account currently says they are. That's it.
But Facebook loses billions every year on VR. It's not their business plan. Their business plan is harvesting and profiting from every shred of personal information about every one of us they can get it from. They don't care if you return the Quest. They've lost like 10 billion this year alone in their Reality Labs VR department. All they care about is harvesting your personal data and your kids personal data. In your mind, the issue is that your child is unable to play. That's the issue you want to resolve. From Facebook Meta's point of view the issue is that they're no longer completely certain of all of the details of your daughter's personal information. And that's the issue they're trying to resolve.

Yes. I need someone to unblock my son's account - from your end. I have tried everything your advisers have suggested repeatedly and I am still no further forward. You do not even have the decency to assign one, and only one, person to see this matter through to successful resolution. I am livid over how this matter has been managed.

It is 1 year later and we have the same problem. Our son got a meta quest. He started an account which was connected to our credit card. So obviously he was not using meta quest without parenting approval. However, now meta blocked his account and is asking for id or credit card. He is 11, but obviously he wouldn't hve an account and pay for everything on his own. There were no complaints from meta as long as we were buying. Now he is about to loose everything invested in his account. This cannot be the intention of meta quest of breaking kids hearts and cashing their money and make them loose everything they achieved. Can someone from MetaQuestSupport help please?

From what I have read, that might exactly be their intention. We have until 29th September to get it this resolved or my son loses everything we paid for. They appear to now be ignoring my requests for help. I have many email with many different instructions on how to fix - none work!
