Hello everyone and meta. I recently just encountered this issue… I’ve had my quest for a little bit now and have never had an issue with it before. I left my headset to charge for an hour unit it was done. In the process of unplugging it I heard a little snap sound. I took a look at the meta cable that come with the headset and nothing was wrong with it, I looked in the headset charging port and I saw the usb c chipped. I don’t understand how this happened?? I take very good care of my tech I own. My warranty has expired back in November and when I went to contact meta support they just offered me the oow program which is basically me paying $360 for a used unit. I contacted another rep and they said in certain scenarios like mine there are exceptions for a replacement as just a one time curiosity. This was so spontaneous and I don’t understand how it even happened. My headset still works and functions amazingly but now I can’t charge it or use it with a link cable.. I am waiting for an email from the rep I spoke with to see if I can get a one time courtesy replacement as this shouldn’t have happened..but as of now I haven’t received any email. If there is an admin or hire up at meta that can assist me with this, please help as I don’t want to purchase a new headset. Thank you for taking the time to read through this. Ive been using oculus/ meta products since 2018 with owning a rift cv1, rift s, quest 2 and now quest 3!
