Is anyone else experiencing Civilization 7 constantly crashing at start up? Is it a known issue and more importantly is there a fix?
I played for about 2 hours initially and it crashed mid game and now won't load, I have tried deleting and reinstalling but it crashes on the initial loading / title screen.
I contacted meta support and they want me to factory reset the device. They won't answer me when I asked if this is a known issue and fix. I don't want to try factory as a first resort so asking if this is a known issue and if there is any advice on this?
I had the same problem. I suspect that it's due to an update which has rendered saved games incompatible. The reason I say this is because I went into settings - storage and deleted the saved games. I also went to the cloud storage (secure.oculus/my/cloud-backup) and deleted the files there, too. After that, it started working again.

That's great thanks. This seems to be the solution. Will have to see if it does the same later, but for now that's allowed it to work again, brilliant thanks for sharing.
This is infuriating. I can only play the game if I delete the app data, losing all previous progress .. I had a a too many hours into the game before this happened and will be ineligible for a refund. I don't actually want a refund, I like the game but this is ridiculous, my empire, destroyed.. Arrg!
Mine seems to be working OK, after I deleted the saved app data. I've played for much longer this time around without the same issue so I'm hoping this is the fix. It seems consistent with the advice from the person who posted the solution in that it might have come about from an update that occured after I started playing which (possibly) meant the old data was no longer compatible. Hopefully it won't happen again🤞
Have the same problem all of a sudden. Game won't make it past the legal screen and crashes. I don't want to delete my savegame...I'm like 10 hours invested already! There must be a different way to solve this!?
