Computer doesn't meet the updated minimum specifications.

My laptop is an ROG Strix G834JY with i9-13980, 32gb RAM, NVIDIA RTX4090 GPU GDDR6 @16gb with HDMI 2.1 and 1.4 display ports. And, I am l getting the message that "my computer doesn't meet the updated minimum specifications. WHAT!!! I looked at the requirements on Meta's website and its says that it supports the NVIDIA RTX40 series, which is far superior to Meta's minimum and recommended requirements. Can someone please reach out and assist me. I have tried numerous display cables including a high end 40Gbps / 240W display cable. @MetaQuestSupport

Hey there @DashQuest ! We understand how important it is to get your headset up and running, especially when you've invested so much time into ensuring that you more than meet all of the system requirements. Let's work together to get you into VR!

We've seen reports that this is a display issue. If you ignore the pop-up / banner message that says you don't meet the requirements, you should still be able to use your headset normally. Please try this first, as we may not need to do any further troubleshooting.

If that does not work, we do have some recommendations to try. First, we recommend ensuring that your drivers for your video card are fully up to date.

In addition, let's make sure that the Meta Quest device is seeing the same video card that your laptop is using with the steps below:

  1. Go to Windows Settings > System > Display > Graphics Settings
  2. Click Graphics performance preference
  3. Click Choose an app to set preference > Desktop app
  4. Locate your OVRServer_x64.exe. By default, this will be located as follows:
    C:\Program Files\Oculus\Support\oculus-runtime\OVRServer_x64.exe
  5. Click Add
  6. Set this to Power Saving then close the settings menu and click Save
If this does not work or is already the setting selected, Performance Mode can be tried instead
  7. Reset the computer and test VR Desktop

If these steps don't do the trick, please ensure the following:

  • Navigate back to the Graphics performance preference and ensure OVRServer_x64.exe is still listed. If not, the setting was not saved.
Ensure you clicked Save and closed the settings window BEFORE resetting your computer.
  • If the OVRServer_x64.exe is still listed, try switching this to Performance Mode rather than Power Saving.

If this still does not work, follow these steps:

  1. Open Windows Settings > System > Display > Graphics Settings
  2. Select Classic App from the drop down and click Browse
  3. Select the OVRServer_x64.exe
  4. Click Options > Power Saver > Save
Ensure the "Power Saver" option has the integrated graphics device at the top of this menu.

Please let us know if this works for you! We're more than happy to look into things more if needed.
