Constant pairing since last update

VRPlayer01

Since last update my Oculus Desktop App is constantly asking to pair with my Quest 3. A pop up to confirm the pairing code keeps coming up on the screen.

I have paired the headset numerous times already through airlink. I have owned a Q, Q2 and Q3. Have used all of them over airlink and never had this problem at all until last update. I would normally pair the headset ONCE and that was it. Now I have to do it EVERY time I use it and randomly when I am not.

Sorry, I have been away for work. I reinstall everything and removed any stray files I could find. Seems to have resolved the issue. Which is weird, because I reinstalled twice to try and fix it, third time was the charm.

Hey there, @VRPlayer01! We definitely want for you to be able to enjoy your time in PCVR without having to constantly re-pair your headset! We would recommend going through the following steps to get a clean, fresh install of the Oculus desktop app on your system that will hopefully stop asking for you to pair over and over:

  1. Disconnect any Rift/Link cables from the computer
  2. Disconnect your computer from the internet
  3. Backup any necessary content. You can find steps on how to do so by clicking here.
  4. Reboot into Safe Mode. You can find steps on how to do so by clicking here.
  5. Uninstall the Oculus PC app using the Control Panel. You can find steps on how to do so by clicking here.
  6. Delete all Oculus folders from the following folder:C:\Program Files
  7. Remove any Oculus folders from the following locations:
    1. C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData
    2. C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData\Local
    3. C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData\LocalLow
    4. C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData\Roaming
    5. C:\OculusSetup-DownloadCache
  8. Restart your computer in normal mode
  9. Reconnect your computer to the internet
  10. Install the Oculus PC app again using the setup tool from our website here
  11. Reconnect the Rift/Link cable or enable air link on your headset and re-test

Hopefully this gets everything working for you!
