Controller Battery stuck at 0%

My left Quest 2 controller is having an issue where it won't stay connected to the headset at all. I changed the battery and it says that its at 0%. The right controller's battery is fine, and I even swaped the two to check and it still read as 0%. I tried unpairing them multiple times, cleaned the battery connectors, and tried a few different brands. Nothing is working at all. It was working fine yesterday, I didn't drop it or anything. It will power on enough to get the flashing leds and buzz that it connected, but instantly stops working afterwards.

@Aklho there's a know issue with the positive battery terminal plunger in the battery compartment. The controller plunger spring pressure is not enough to make positive and continuous contact with the positive battery terminal.

Some AA batteries are taller than others and some have longer positive battery terminals. A small ball of aluminium foil flattened and placed in the recess for the positive terminal, or a small 7mm washer diameter placed against the positive controller plunger will ensure good contact is made. Check out the video at the 2 minute mark. NOTE - HE PUTS FOIL BETWEEN THE NEGATIVE TERMINAL AND THE BATTERY. THE ISSUE IS WITH THE POSITIVE TERMINAL, PUT THE FOIL BETWEEN THE POSITIVE TERMINAL AND THE BATTERY.

Sadly, none of the fixes worked for me and i do remember feeling the battery heat up considerably one time when i tried putting it in after it started having problems. Long story short, most definitely a short circuit, but thanks for the help anyways.

Thank you for taking the time to try these steps! Please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help in future.

Yes they won’t charge and even using normal batteries they do not work we have now noticed that when we turn the headset on the light on the front doesn’t stay on any more

I recently had the same loss of connectivity with my RH controller. With the battery cover removed I could get intermittent connectivity by rotating the battery whilst it was in its socket. The battery was a new battery so it points to an issue between the battery and the controller battery terminals. It's working for the moment, but I might try the foil fix if it returns.
