Controller Light Blinking Help

EDIT: before you read this, the problem has been fixed. (look below)

Ok so my left oculus quest 2 touch controller is blinking on and off (spelling SOS in morse code). It appears to be paired in the app, but the headset says otherwise. Its been like this for about an hour.

I've searched this problem up online, and apparently its some sort of failed firmware update. There are lots of fixes online but none of them work for me. I have tried:

- unpairing then repairing the controllers from the app. (x3)

- taking out the battery then re-inserting it.

- restarting the headset (x2)

- entering Bluetooth pairing mode on the controllers

- shutting down the headset and then turning it back on.

none of these "fixes" worked for me, and every time I tried one the controllers got more buggy:

- left controller (bad one) buzzing every half second

- right controller becoming unpaired

- default cursor (when no controller is paired) staying in one spot

If oculus somehow finds this message, please add some sort of firmware reset that will delete, then reinstall the latest version. Help is appreciated, and if the controllers fix themself (for some reason) ill edit this post. until then, HELP o _ o

EDIT: ok so after maybe an hour, the lights started to blink very rapidly. after five minutes the controller reconnected, and after maybe 15 more minutes the blinking stopped. I think that during that time the controller was either updating or reverting to a stable state. Anyways, if you have this situation, just wait about an hour and a half.

My oculus was doing the same thing with my right controller, it keeps blinking sos, and I've taken the battery out, turned off the headset and back on multiple times, let it wait, paired in the app and all it does is update firmware, complete the update and never connect. It's been a full day now. I did find some battery corrosion on the controller and cleaned it off with a q-tip with nothing on it, but it was working fine just a couple hours prior to this.

ME TOO, Seems like this is an ONGOING ISSUE AND META NEEDS TO ADDRESS IT!

Hey @JoNinja2013! We see you're having troubles with your controller. This is not the VR gaming experience we want you to have, so let's see what we can do to get this fixed! Please try the following:

  • Remove the batteries from your controllers for at least 10 minutes to reset the controller
  • Unpair and re-pair the controllers
  • As a last resort, factory reset the device. Make sure you have cloud backup enabled so you don't lose any data! Follow the steps found here to factory reset your device.

We hope this helps! If not, please reach out to our support team so we can assist you further.

That's real funny cause I left them out OVER NIGHT and nothing is working. N.O.T.H.I.N.G.

Oh-oh! We know the time this is taking away from being able to be in the VR world with us. Due to the limited tools we have through our Forums we will need you to get connected with our Meta Store Support as they will provide a few more options as you have done the following steps to get your controller back up. Please click here to get in touch with one of our agents through a live chat or even scheduling a call!

That's real funny idiots. We said we already tried your BS fixes that work for one out of fifty people. Seriously we spend lots of money on your headsets and it seems the only time the device fails or doesn't work the way it should is when the people we purchased the headset from decides they need some refurbished devices so you break ours hoping to get them sent back so you can claim you lost them in shipping or the device is broken and hold the device till we finally buy another one.

MetaQuest is outright RIDICULOUS and the product is obviously TRASH!!! If it takes Months to get a response and then you keep offering the same solution that CLEARLY doesn't work, then when confronted, you keep referring people to customer support.!!!!! This Is clearly an Reoccurring issue that NEEDS to be addressed on a broader scale like perhaps POSTING THE FKN Video/Fix for the world to see,NOT keep referring us to a fkn talk line. That is not effective because NO ONE has yet to POST A definitive solution.

My Oculus is 17 days old biggest waste of $550 bucks I EVER PAID.

I've been trouble shooting every single solution for 2 days to no avail.

I guess a reset it is,Although people say this DOESNT work as well, fingers crossed everybody.

Meta u SUCCCCKKKKKK!!!!
