Controller Positioning Tracking Issue on Quest Pro Devices

dnsoft
Explorer

Hello,

We are experiencing issues with two out of four Quest Pro devices regarding controller positioning tracking. These two devices have been factory reset and updated to the latest version, but their positioning tracking for both controllers is not functioning properly.

Even when the tracking works occasionally, it fails again after placing the controllers back on the charging dock and then picking them up again. We have ensured that all controller updates have been completed to 100% and have rebooted the devices multiple times.

The problematic runtime version is 67.0.0.652.358.621314402.

The runtime versions that work correctly are:

62.0.0.269.341
64.0.0.504.368
One notable point is that ArborXR is installed on all four devices with the same setup:

ArborXR Client app version: 2024.28.0
ArborXR Home version: 2024.29.0
This issue does not occur only in the developed app but also immediately after turning on the devices. Positioning tracking does not work even after turning off ArborXR, and in the Quest main app state, the controllers' buttons, touch, and rotation always function.

We understand that downgrading the firmware through official methods may not be possible. Could you please provide insights into why the latest updated devices are experiencing this controller positioning tracking issue and suggest any solutions?

Thank you.

Hi there, @dnsoft! Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We understand how this can disrupt an amazing VR experience, so we would love to take a look into this for you in order to get you back to that smooth VR experience! You mention that you have attempted a factory reset. Can you please try to factory reset your Pro controllers?

To factory reset the Pro controllers, please try the following:

  1. Right Controller: Hold the A and Oculus buttons until the LED begins flashing red or white.
    1. Left Controller: Hold the X and Menu buttons until the LED begins flashing red or white.
  2. Release the buttons immediately after the LED begins blinking red or white.
  3. Perform a manual pairing and check if the controller LED will flash blue and white to signal the pairing state.
  4. Once paired, controllers may take a while to update and stay unresponsive until they finish, and LEDs would be purple during the update.

This should do the trick for you. In the event that the issue persists, please don't hesitate to reach out to us again so that we can continue to look into it for you! We look forward to hearing back from you soon!
