Controller issue in game only

i have a quest 2 with original controllers. I have had it for about 6 months. I play blade and sorcery mainly and just downloaded swordsman. 

In the quest menu the controllers work perfect but as soon as a game loads to its main menu the controller is unresponsive. For example, in Blade and Sorcery, once the menu loads the little crystal cursor is stick at about head high on my right and wont move. The laserpoint cursor in swordplay in stuck pointing off to the right. I have unpaired and repaired the controllers. I have cleared data from blade and sorcery and have reset my settings to factory. I have no mods on either game.

if i do a factory reset will i lose purchases or will they come back after I sign in? I assume Ill have to redownload everything as well

No, you don't lose your purchases(as long as you sign in with the account that you used to purchase them), they are tied to your account, not to the device.

But you have to redownload and reinstall your games.
