So I decided to get some help here since I cant figure this out myself. When I was playing VRC earlier, I realized that my left controller refused to work properly. (For example, I tried opening my hand out, and instead it kept doing the peace sign), of course, I took the battery out, waited, and put it back in, but it didnt work. The battery is fine, fully charged. I did before accidentally break the thumbstick after putting too much pressure and threw the broken piece away, which led to this problem. But still, I did everything I could, and it wont solve the problem. Is there anything I can do?

Hi @Just.A.Grunt381! We really appreciate you sharing your experience with the community. We certainly understand how important it is that our controllers respond to us properly, and we are ready to lend a hand! Below, we've listed a few questions to get a better understanding of what's going on:

For cleaning my controllers, I've done that countless times the other day this happened, but it didnt really fix it. I only do it when my controllers start drifting and it becomes irritating. But after I broke the thumbstick, it somehow stopped, but made a new problem. And no, I'm not using any third-party accessories that I know of. I did have both controllers replaced a couple months/years back due to more major issues. But I dont think they count as third party. Unpairing and pairing my controllers, I havent tried it yet, but I believe the last time I tried it, it didnt work. I was thinking a piece of the broken thumbstick got stuck somewhere, but the triggers work okay.

We understand the controllers have been cleaned previously and there are no third party accessories being used with them. The next step would be to unpair then pair the controller and headset again following the steps on the support page here to refresh. Should it still continue the last step would be to perform a factory reset to reset the device to a "like-new" state, wiping all information and data off the device. Some of this data can be restored by enabling Cloud Backups beforehand; however, keep in mind that while Cloud Backup is available to all Meta Quest developers, it's up to developers to decide whether to enable this feature for their app and what data is backed up. You can find which installed apps have Cloud Backups enabled on the Cloud Backups page of your Meta account profile. Once you've set up Cloud Backups, ensure your device is fully charged, then proceed with the directions found in the Meta Store Help Center.
