DK2 keeps on crashing / not starting up

Anonymous

So depending on how my DK2 is feeling it either wont start up or it will just constantly crash all the time. This was not happening on Windows 7 and only really started when I upgraded to 10, I also did just switch out my MB so I only have 3.0 slots. Anyways here is my diagnostic log.

Hmmmm so after looking it up, it seems like eXtensible Host Controller wont work for oculus?

Can you try uninstalling everything Oculus from the system, restarting, then installing 0.8 fresh? It may be that there were still stuff left over when you upgraded to Windows 10 that are causing conflict.

If that doesn't work, can you get me the server log from this post? https://forums.oculus.com/community/discussion/23521/how-to-provide-logs-for-bug-reports/p1

Thanks.

That log doesn't have much information. There may be another one in the folder with a larger file size that may have better info. Just try to find the most recent one with a large filesize.

It looks like a problem either with the USB cable or the USB controller on your computer. I'd recommend getting a new cable and a USB 2.0 powered hub.

Im like 100% sure its the eXtensible USB driver, If I unplug the rift I get a USB slot that has an error on it and if I uninstall that and search for hardware changes the rift will work.....and then bug out 5min later

Well looks like I was wrong, replaced the USB, last one I tried it with I assume just didn't have enough power so it wasn't turning on. This one has enough but not enough to power the USB slot so I ordered the recommended 10ft one.
