Dead battery on Quest 3

Tosques

Hi!

Today after a few months of playing suddenly my meta quest 3 turned off from nowhere.

After that it was showing the no battery sign, i didnt think much about it.

Now after a few hours of charging still didnt charge any bit.

And when i disconnect the cable shows a battery icon crossed...

Is my battery dead? Anything i can try to fix it? Or i need a replacement of battery?

I played using the link cable connected idk if that would affect battery life?

Hey hey @Tosques, and welcome to the forums! I know how concerned I get when any of my devices stop charging all of a sudden, and the frantic look for other chargers to see if the battery level changes at all. I'm so happy to hear yours was able to start working after some troubleshooting and some other chargers. (Thanks for updating your thread too!)

In regard to using the Link cable, I'd be happy to provide a little more info! Use of the Link cable in general shouldn't affect whether or not your headset charges/holds power. That being said, the Link cable itself is designed primarily for the data transfer between your PC and your headset, and prioritizes that over charging. It should generally maintain enough charge to keep playing while connected. If you're doing a lot on your headset for an extended period though, I could definitely see a way that it could potentially die while connected. When you go to actually charge your headset, just make sure you use a charging cable instead of the Link cable!

If you think your battery life has significantly decreased, or if you continue to have this kind of issue, you can always reach out to @MetaQuestSupport in a private message or open a support ticket yourself here.

Make sure you smash that Kudos button!
