Deleting oculus videos on mobile

Is there any way to delete or unsync videos or pictures on the meta quest app? I have tried deleting thr spp and reinstalling it but they are still there.

This is wrong and backwards, we have to select unsync FIRST then, delete... otherwise the file is stuck on the Quest app cloud, which is what we are asking to have fixed!!

My photos were unsynced when I performed a factory reset. 

Yes, I know. I didn't unsync first and the videos are sat in my Quest App.

Hey there, @Ramb090 and @NathanSudo! We know how important it is to be able to save and delete your files. We are sad to hear that you are having some trouble deleting files from your mobile app. Follow these steps to delete files from your headset and your mobile app. Please be aware that you will want to ensure you have media syncing turned off before you perform these steps.

In order for you to delete the pictures/videos from the mobile app, you'll need to follow these steps from your headset:

 

  1. In your headset, navigate to the Files app
  2. From the Files app, navigate to the file you want to delete.
  3. Select the three dots on the file you want to delete, then select "Delete".
  4. If you have media syncing turned on, select "Delete and Unsync" to delete the file from your Quest 2 and your Meta Quest mobile app.

So literally any photo or video downloaded gets synced to the app because synced to app is set by default on startup and most new users won't realise this, and then it cant be removed from the app if you have deleted the files already. What a stupid concept. Yo meta people are going to watch *bleep* on your devices. They will probably download said *bleep* because streaming 3d videos is janky. So now your servers are going to be filling up with *bleep* and the rest of us have said *bleep* stuck on our quest apps, unable to deleted it because it is on your cloud, which you won't let us access. Who designed it this way because they need to be fired, but not before being lauded around the office wearing a dunce hat because this is one of the stupidest blunders I have witnessed in digital design history. Bravo. 10/10 for incompetence.

So one more time because people are stuppid. The videos are Stores for ca. TWO WEAKS, after two weaks they are deleted and Spur precious Ding Ding Video is No longer in your App. 

Having sync option "on" i've deleted files from Meta Quest 3 headset, now the same files are showing up in the mobile phone app Meta Quest and there's no "delete" button. Meta you should give the customers the ability to erase their files from cloud whenever they want.

How the hell can such a thing be possible? The GDPR is unambiguous and clear, the practices you are using here are illegal: The right to erasure (Articles 17 & 19 of the GDPR) obliges you to delete the data without delay or to enable manual deletion. You do neither!

This is not a new ask, but I am hoping that someone finally fixes this. 

Please add the ability to delete gallery photos and videos from the cloud using the mobile app.  Currently, you can delete photo/video from headset but it will not sync with app leaving whatever you deleted in your gallery on your phone.

Please fix!!

Hey everyone! I noticed a good few of y'all running into issues with your synced media not deleting after the 14 days. I would like to bring this up to our engineering team, but first, I will need some information to help our engineers get to the bottom of this. Please let me know the following:

  • What's the full version number of your headset? (59.0.0.####### or likewise)
    • Quick Settings > System > Software Update
  • What version is your Meta Quest app running? 
  • Photo showing no option to delete the media.
  • What phone model you have
  • What OS your Phone runs on (including OS version)

With this information, I can take your issues to our engineers and have a better chance of getting an outcome sooner! Looking forward to everyone's reply!
