Design flaw on controllers

So there is a small design flaw on the quest 3 controllers. The contact spot for the positive end of the battery can stuck in place, preventing it from making contact with battery terminal due to the outter plastic ring.

My right controller will not work properly as a result.

It was driving me crazy as to why it suddenly wouldn't work. After inspection of both controllers I noticed the right controller contact pad was more depressed than the left controllers pad. I dont know if the spring underneath is worn out, or if it's jammed. I cannot not free it though. Because of the outta plastic ring around it (that also moves) it then prevents the pad from making contact with the battery. The flaw i see there is the plastic ring around the pad. If that wasn't there, this wouldn't be an issue.

I confirmed this is the issue with the controller by using a piece of tinfoil between the battery and the pad to fill the gap (wasn't easy because everything moves around.) And sure enough the controller works again.

The system was a Christmas gift, so only 3 months before that part failed. Sometimes thing can be over engineered, this battery compartment is one of those times.

you can see the ever so slight depression of the one on the left? Compared to the one on the right. This tiny bit of difference prevents contact with the battery.

@NihilisticFeeling  try rotating the positive terminal to free it up from the top of the castellations.
