Developer mode can't be activated and 2FA SMS with code not working.

Good evening,

is a long time since i'm trying to resolve this problem of not receving the SMS code for the authentication of my account, to enable developer mode on my Meta Quest 3 (and previously on Meta Quest 2).

I already tryied in vaine as suggested by Meta support:
- forcing to submit again my number.
- waiting longer.
- search by browsing in the oculus developer section for a solution.

This is a disservice that Meta should address and find a solution, since it is an important tool on every device, for security (2FA) and utility (developer mode).

Also for usability, all this should not be such an hussle to activate on a device (activating developer mode on the device shouldn't require a 2FA in the first place like in many Android devices).

I hope to get a proper support and a definitive solution on how to resolve this problem and enable developer mode on my device, possibly with 2FA via SMS.

We are happy to give you a link to our support page dedicated to setting up developer mode. To verify your account, you have two options. You can either verify via SMS on an eligible phone or add a valid payment method. If you're not receiving SMS on your phone, you can either try using a different phone or add a valid payment method. Unfortunately, we don't have the tools to enable dev mode on our end or to push the SMS code through. If you encounter any further questions or difficulties, please don't hesitate to reach out. You should open a support ticket on your side to the 2FA development team and ask them to fix the code and make it work.

I've got 4 phones at my disposal, tried all of them, 2 different numbers. None of them worked.
How do you qualify an eligible phone?
Is there a list somewhere?

Obviously the problem is not on the client side (us) but on your side.

I need to enable developer mode.
I've even tried to activate it with a valid payment method (3 different CBs in fact), even in this case it doesn't work.

My main phone number was already set in facebook and Notification an identification with sms activated.
I've deleted it following this process :

Tryed to re add it with the same PC i've deleted it and it tel me :

Begin to be amazed at the lack of simplicity of a task as simple as enabling 2FA authentication via SMS. 😅

I first tried directly from my meta account before linking my Facebook to it.
I want to delete it and try to add it again, but I can't find where to do that on the meta account, unlike on Facebook.

We really appreciate you letting us know, @Origine64000! In that case, we'd like to recommend some troubleshooting steps to make sure we've tried everything to get your 2FA set up. Please complete the following steps then get back to us with your results: 
 

  • Check for outage reports from your carrier
  • Check to see if airplane mode is enabled
  • Reboot the phone
  • Check for blocked numbers
  • Check for phone OS updates

I just found this and judging by countless posts on stackoverflow and so on it's unlikely he solved his issue. It still seems to exist, I have the same problem. Just no sms whatsoever, even after an hour.

But just like for the Account recovery on Facebook which is not working since weeks there seems to be no intention of fixing this?
