Device not being removed/restart meta quest link not working

My devices quest link is not working and is popping up as general device problem. So I tried restarting everything and that didn't work. So I tried using the restart button provided in the beta settings and it does nothing. So I try removing my device so I could then repair it with my PC, and the button to remove device does nothing. I assume the update that came out today broke some stuff. The only reason I own one of these **bleep**ty headsets is so I can use airlink so as of right now it is completely useless to me.

Hello @StraightOuttaGulag69! We hate to hear that you're not able to remove a device. We'd be more than happy to assist you with getting this resolved! Just to clarify, are you talking about the Quest Link or the Air Link? The Quest Link has to be used with a cable. The Air Link works over Wi-Fi.

i am talking about the air link. i dont nessesarily need the device removed however removing and then re adding the device seemed like a last resort type of thing

 

Thank you for clarifying! So the problem is the Air Link isn't properly working, correct? Do you mind letting us know what exactly is or isn't happening? Are you receiving any error messages besides the "General device problem" message? How long has this been happening? Were you using it at the time that it stopped working?

I have the same problem and do not know how to solve it. Trying for days. I use the air link to connect the device. but it keeps disconnecting whilst the device status on quest link shows a yellow light. I am not able to connect again from the air link on the oculus neither can I disconnect from the quest link on the pc or restart from the beta. Is there any help?

Well, I had a problem similar to this, and for me what helped me was resetting the modem and the oculus quest 2 to factory confuguration (hold the power and volume button -), when it done, everything was fine for me. I don't know if this is a good idea for you, maybe you should wait for the support help, but I hope you can fix this. Good luck.

Hey there, @acbeckie. We noticed you are having some issues regarding the air link. There is no need to look further; we are here to help out. We wanted to say thank you to @Rph0112 for giving out those great troubleshooting steps, and we do recommend trying them. We are, however, going to give you some additional steps for you to try out below.

 

  • Please ensure no VPN is being used 
  • Is the Router in the Same Room as the PC and Headset?
  • Has it Worked Before?
  • Headset should be connected to Wi-Fi via 5GHz band
