Until now one of my favourite features was having a floating tablet with a youtube video that i can change in size and place it everywhere i want while doing my chores. When clicking fullscreen it changes immediately to this new stupid cinema view in the center of my view and it's huge and not scaleable. Also when i have other tabs open these disappear. It would be very welcome they could restore that feature or at least give us the option to choose between fullscreen inside the tab vs. cinema view (i have other apps if i want the big screen). What is even the idea of this mode since the YT-VR app already exists? Thanks for coming to my TED talk.
ps. please don't suggest using youtubes own "theater mode" view. There is still way too much stuff around the video making it small and triggering my OCD. It worked perfect until this update.
yeah.. i really hope they bring this feature back as an additional option to their new viewer. in the meantime i try to sideload another browser that doesn't do this. i'll report back how it goes. chrome unfortunately didn't work since it's the mobile version and it shows the fullscreen yt video in a narrow portrait mode.
I tried different browsers but since they're basically all mobile browsers they all have this issue. Only hope is Meta brings the feature back. As an additional option or the replace that stupid new large viewer. I don't even get what the idea of that was since you had already a large viewer if you toggled from tablet mode to the big screen mode. And on this one you could even change in size and have different tabs open.
YAY!! They brought the feature BACK! Thank you devs @meta !!!
edit: celebrated too early. VERY annoying since that new player is garbage.
