Discriminatory Pricing Policy of Meta

For some time now, I have noticed that many accounts have been banned from using app referral programs, which used to provide significant discounts, although now it’s only 15%.

And now, in my case, I have found that many people from a community I actively follow, such as LecitronXR, have been able to purchase games at a lower price than the one displayed for me in the store.

We have conducted several checks, and faced with this situation, I decided to contact Meta.

In the end, the response was the same as always, probably without investigating the matter any further. It was simply an automated response without verifying if it was accurate. They claim that "the system has not selected my account, that it is an automatic process that renews each month for new users."

This is a complete lie because I have a friend who hadn’t received any offers since March, and it wasn’t until this month — after filing complaints so many times that we lost count — that they finally decided to actually review it.

This policy is discriminatory because it is based on analyzing your purchase history and your use of referral programs, discounts, etc.

As someone who actively buys my games, not only to support app creators but also to recognize the added value of their products, I appreciate being able to take advantage of the discounts they offer, as well as those offered by the platform itself. But it’s frustrating to find that a game I pay 15 euros for is being purchased by someone else for 7.99 euros — which has actually happened.

In the end, this situation may drive me to start playing PCVR, where I can pay almost the same for games while enjoying higher quality through WiFi.

I just wanted to share this reflection so that people understand what’s happening. And, of course, feel free to share your experiences if you’ve faced something similar.
