Don’t buy a Meta Quest!

Plenty of people probably already know this, but I just found out. Meta, running this mill billions and billions of dollar industry can be bothered to do exactly nothing if their products don’t work. my son’s headset has been unable to pair to a device for three days. This started with a known issue that caused problems with lots of peoples headsets, but his was never corrected. I have tried every number that I can find on the Internet and every way that I can to get a hold of someone who will help repair this very costly device. There is absolutely no resource for that. This is terrible business, and should not be tolerated!

I've got the same problem. I bought a Quest 2 three days ago and I still can't play with it because it just won't pair with my app. I tried EVERYTHING from switching wi-fi to even factory reset the headset. I can say this is no app/headset problem, it's a straight Meta servers issue. and I'm here, after three days, searching for help on the internet.

This is why I'm considering getting a steam deck tbh. 😞

I can assure you had I known Oculus were going to sellout to Zuckerberg I wouldn't have touched their VR headset with a barge pole. My next VR headset will NOT be  meta that's a certainty.

Does Meta even uphold their warranties? If I buy a 4 year warranty from Walmart will Meta uphold it or will it be for through Walmart if I have issues? I don't feel like buying through Meta them selves. Hopefully they'll let you exchange headsets at the store if any issues occur, etc.

Hello everyone! Thank you all for sharing these experiences with the community. We know how important a smooth set-up and pairing experience are to the introduction of any new product, and we are more than happy to offer any assistance or information we have available!

To start off, we've listed some initial troubleshooting steps below:

  1. Ensure your phone is compatible with the Meta Quest app.
    • Apple iOS 13.4 or later
    • Android 5.0 or later
  2. Ensure your phone app and headset are on the latest available version.
  3. Ensure your phone and headset are connected to the same network and the same frequency.
  4. Remove any unsupported third-party accessories that may affect communication (such as headset covers, etc.).
