Due to a support error - the Meta Warranty is not available to me.

Hello.
I am having a problem with buying a Meta Warranty Plus for me Meta 3.

Details below - 

I purchased my headset on February 28th of 2025 from Amazon.

I received the headset a week later and Activated it a few days later, signing up for a META plus subscription (3 month free trial).

At that same time I saw the warranty available to buy as well for my new headset. I had 60 days to buy that warranty, and knew that if I liked the unit I would do that.


On 4/21 (Well within the 60 day period from my Registration) - I tried to buy the warranty on the site, and entered my serial number and the site did not recognize that serial number.

I then contacted Tech support online in Chat and they tried to help but could not do it either.
They asked to research the issue, and sent me an email confirmation the same day (4/21).

On 4/27 support emailed me back and asked for the serial number on my packaging as well as a receipt of purchase form Amazon.  I sent them the serial number as well as a picture of the package AND the receipt from Amazon.

On 4/29 support emailed me back to tell me that I was outside of the 60 day period to buy a warranty, because I had "Activated the device on February 28th" - This is incorrect, I had bought the device on that day not activated it.
I replied back to Meta on 4/30 and advised that was not correct, and got an email that they were looking into it.

Today (5/2) I received an email saying the same thing - that I was outside of the warranty and there is nothing that can be done ... but wanted to offer a 50.00 credit for the problems.

I have replied that is not acceptable, and am asking for an elevated review because I don't feel that anyone is actually looking at the facts correctly.

I don't know what else to do or who to reach out too, there is no phone number to talk too, and email replies take days to get further delaying my ability to put the warranty I want on this. 

I am seeing others have had issue like this, and am hoping that someone will be helpfull.

Just a quick Update...

Got another failed email... starting to think that all emails are AI chat bots and that a real person has not actually looked at the emails I have sent prior in responses...

And this is my reply back sent today - 

Hello Kyle.

This does not look to be correct Kyle.

Please read the emails I have sent…. My 60 days had NOT Passed.

 

I bought it on 2/28

And 60 days from that would be  4/28

You waited to the day before the expiration to ask me for my Serial Number???

I contacted you 6 days BEFORE that day By Chat and EMAIL to correct this problem!

That is not the right thing.

 

Also, you just stated that the warranty HAS to be bought at the time of the purchase.

This simply not true.

Noted on your site… The Meta warranty is available UP TO 60 days after purchase.
