*EDIT! 02JUL24 - I want it to be clear that I DO NOT ACCEPT the linked solution. Meta support is 100% apathetic to the issue.*
I have been using my galaxy buds pro for over a year with my meta quest 2 headset with no issues.
Recently after what appears to be an update perhaps; the Bluetooth earbuds will pair fine. They will play all in game and headset audio correctly.
However as soon as I join a call, the audio reverts to headset speakers. Game and call audio.
When the call is ended, the audio returns to the earbuds with no other direction from myself.
Oculus 2
Most current update
Game is Pavlov Shack fully updated.
No other software or games installed in the headset. Basically a completely factory headset with wifi, Bluetooth earbuds and Pavlov Shack. No other downloads or modifications.
I have also found other users on Reddit with a similar experience.
Please advise.

Hey there @CaptainMontereyJack! We know how important it is for everything to work seamlessly, and we would love to team up with you to see what's going on. Thank you for all the additional information surrounding your situation, as this helps us out tremendously. We'd like for you to uninstall Pavlov Shack, restart your headset, and then reinstall the game. Get back to us after you have knocked out these steps. We look forward to your reply!

thank you for joining in the discussion.
This was the first option I tried. Initially I uninstalled Pavlov and reinstalled it. No change to audio behavior. At this point Pavlov was installed on my "account" from the parent account via app sharing.
From there, I uninstalled Pavlov. Factory Reset the headset by powering the unit down and holding the power button and the volume up button until I was displayed the menu. I selected factory reset, confirmed I understand that it would fully erase all user data, and performed the reset.
Once that was done, I followed the initialization prompts, connected to WiFi, THEN, I found Pavlov, paid in full for a new, stand alone copy with no sharing needed and installed it.
Pavlov is the only download or app of any kind on the headset directly after a factory reset. There are no other devices or software connected to the headset. The audio behavior remains.
A live chat with Meta support indicates that this change is a "slow roll out" and intentional? Is there truth to that?

Thank you so much for providing this update! For your last question, if the slow rollout is referring to Meta Quest build 66.0 updates, yes. That is a slow rollout. The update and new features are being pushed slowly. Even if the version 66 update has been installed on the device, certain features may not be available immediately since they are also being pushed slowly.
With that being said, one thing we recommend doing is testing to see if this issue occurs in other games outside of Pavlov Shack. If it occurs in other games or apps as well, then the last recommendation that we have, since you have already factory reset the device and are experiencing the same audio anomaly, would be to report the issue directly to our engineers. This can be done either through the headset or mobile app. More information on how to do this can be found on our page Report a problem on Meta Quest.
If the issue only occurs in Pavlov Shack and it works normally in all other apps, then we would instead let the game developers know about the issue!
We appreciate your patience! If you have any other questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to ask!

I will download another app and try, the issue has been replicated by others using different apps like beatsaber etc. and noted in this reddit thread.

I will confirm after downloading additional apps and report

I installed RecRoom. paired my bluetooth in ear headphones. all audio and mic functions switch to the bluetooth device. once a call is joined with another meta user, all audio is then routed to the headset and no audio is transmitted to the bluetooth headphones. Pairing or disconnecting has no effect, all audio remains on headset speakers.
once the call is ended, audio then reverts to the paired bluetooth device if still connected. if i abandon the bluetooth device and disconnect while in game and the audio is on headset speaker, the audio will remain unchanged from the headset.
hope this helps.

Thank you @CaptainMontereyJack for reaching out to us with some clarity. You stated that you are using your Galaxy Buds Pro to connect to your Quest 2. Although these headphones may have worked in the past, in order to get a stable interaction with your Bluetooth headphones and your Quest 2, you must use a product that is specifically made for Meta VR. For more information on connecting compatible Bluetooth devices to your headset as well as what product is best, check out this article! We hope you find this information helpful! If you need any additional assistance, please don't hesitate to reach back out.

Am I to understand that, if I purchase the "Soundcore by Anker Wireless VR Earbuds" as noted in the above linked article. I will then be able to have BOTH my in game audio AND call between meta users?
