Elite Dangerous - No peripherals work

I cant get it to work with Elite Dangerous - when I load the game there is no keyboard, mouse or HOTAS in game - Tried starting from SteamVR, Tried using Oculus Home (I did not yet try the Oculus Home key.)

Also made sure the ED window had focus and that I had clicked in the window before putting on the HMD,

Been trying for 6 hours, now. Any thoughts?

There's a drop down box centre top of the controls settings page were you can select control types. I had to switch them to controller to get the xbox controller on. Also handy tip, for some reason the Rift S puts your behind the body in the ship - press F12 to recenter your view.

Thanks I will try that and the F12 thing is really useful - had that happen but since nothing else was working I did not fight that battle yet 🙂

Elite Dangerous was my favourite CV1 experience. I loved it, worked my way up to a Vulture bounty hunting and doing assassinations. 
Unfortunately my Rift S is throwing up headtracking errors and its killing me that those bounties are escaping my justice lol

I haven't tested yet, but something to consider for this:
Most people playing Elite are probably sitting at their desk. This means they likely have a monitor taking up a fair amount of their forwards view. The Insight tracking on the Rift-S may be seeing the movement on the monitor from the game and thinking it's headset movement. Try turning off the monitor or putting a cloth or something over it to see if that helps.
Just a guess, but something I've been wondering about for a while.

I had no tracking issues at all - But that is a good tip. I have to say that I can't wait to get this working. I was astounded to be standing on the bridge of my AspX - It was a bit of a religious moment for me. I cant want to see a star!!!!

Sound logic, I'll try this later. At least it doesn't use my touch controllers which are utterly useless at the minute.

Yea when I loaded back up again I forgot I was going to be in a vulture. Was class looking and I remembered making the upgrade and noticeably feeling stronger and safer due to the immersion lol

Stars appear to 'just hang' in space, as does the System Map.  Also wait for your first SRV outing 🙂
If you have any Krait Variant or a T-series (T10 best) enjoy the 'size' of your ship!

BTW - I never got this to work from SteamVR - I downloaded it into the Oculus Home app and it works from there.

Got my RIFT S today and impressed initially. Then I moved the 'Depth' with the under right button to check available adjustments and placed it fully back again and I see like square box in my peripheral view except for the top. It's as though it was perfect from default but is hard to get as good as it was as if some gasket part moved with the lens and won't stay back again.

Anyways the Piped Audio works very well indeed for most games but in Elite it is a total disaster! I had used BOOST for CV1 and in RIFT S it just crackles and is just treble. There's no difference in NORMAL levels and none by making +3dB @ 100Hz which works very well for other games which totally amazed me!
Ah it has an ingame enhancer DTS! I will try with it OFF. Nope!

For I just got it today and I don't intend switching it off a I presently keep my PC ON anyways for now for other reasons. I have no issues at all with tracking.
