When I connect Quest headset to pc via cable hand tracking doesn't work, and there is no option in menu to enable it. can someone tell me how to enable hand tracking when its connected to PC?

Oh no, Kristi! This is definitely not an experience we'd like for our customers to have. However, we don't provide an option for PC/Link as you can only use it with a standalone headset. Hope this helps answer your question. Let us know if you need further assistance.

Would be great if it did support while connected to a computer as we still can use the functionality within unreal engine and unity. Only limitation is just not enabling it.

That is a great idea Entropys. We appreciate your feedback and what you think should be implemented into VR. You can also leave this idea on our ideas forum page. Our developers do take a look at the comments to see what the community wants in VR within the next updates.

That's not how it works. Meta simply doesn't want you to play on PC, so they aren't gonna make it too enjoyable for you. Support here's cynically claiming that they'd like you to have a better experience, or that you have great ideas, but the truth is that they want you play Quest as much as possible and PCVR as little as possible, so dont count on cool features like hand tracking on obviously superior PCVR. VD does support it to some degree tho.

It would be interesting to try hand-tracking in Quest Link in order to make use of the keyboard while using Office applications. Typing with the controller is not feasible for anything other than short text such as a password, but hand typing could be useful for adding notes. The keyboard looks pretty good, I'm actually itching to type on it 🙂

Hey @201010, we see that you are enthusiastic about a using hand-tracking feature with PCVR. We would love for you and @KrisITB to post this thought on the Ideas Forums! If enough users come together and make noise on the thread, it'll give the post the attention you'll need to have an engineer see this idea and implement it!
We hope this information was insightful. If any of you ever run into an issue with a headset acting up, please don't hesitate to let us know. Thank you!
