Error: Social Platform Keeps Stopping

Cosmilk
Level 3

There is a pop up that continues to come up that states "Social Platform Keeps Stopping" and gives 2 selection options, "App Info" or "Close App". Both choices just bring the screen pop-up back up, not allowing any form of closing or system access.  Please help.

Hello @Cosmilk! Thanks for getting back to us. Our best bet would be to attempt a Factory Reset of your device. In order to do this you can follow the steps listed below:

  1. Turn off your headset.
  2. Hold the power and volume (-) button on your headset down simultaneously until the boot screen loads on your headset.
  3. Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Factory Reset and press the power button.
  4. Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Yes and press the power button.

Once you have tried this please reach back out and let us know so that we can see what other options are available. Thanks!

Hey there @Cosmilk! We completely understand how it feels to have annoying pop-ups show up. In order for us to get a better understanding of your issue we have a few questions for you:

  • When did this first start occurring?
  • What specific app is experiencing this issue?
  • Is this issue occurring in the Home area?
  • Do you have a consistent, and stable, wifi connection?

Once you get back to us with this information we can look further into this. Thanks!

Just started 30 minutes ago.  Turned the headset on, it went to the boundary set up, and the error screen popped up. So yes from the home screen, and yes reliable wifi

I have restarted, I've also done a hard restart, both with and without being connected to my pc.

Will I lose all of my games and progress if I do this factory reset?

Hey @Cosmilk! After the Factory Reset you will have to set your headset up again. Since games are tied to your account you will be able to re-install them. In addition we would recommend checking your settings for "Cloud Backup." This setting is on by default, but if you're able to get into your settings then we would recommend making sure it is turned on. Cloud backup will save your progress in your games to your account as well so you should be able to pick up right where you left off.

Hey there @Cosmilk! Just wanted to follow up and see if you were able to try the factory reset. If you have any further questions please don't hesitate to reach back out and let us know!

Thank you so much for following up.  I did the factory reset, was able to reinstall my games and progress, and after a day of testing I am happy to report that it all seems to be working now.  Thank you

So glad to hear that @Cosmilk! If you have any further questions don't hesitate to let us know!
