Hi,
I got an email saying I needed to convert my account to my 11 year old son's account as he's under 13. I followed the instructions and amended the account to his email address. In the Family Centre I can see my account plus his account with all of his games. So far so good. However, I then need to re-register his Oculus 2 to the new account, Log into meta.com/device as instructed - as him. Great. Then it asks me to confirm my parent account - sends me a code to my email. Enter the code and get the message "Something has gone wrong". Can't go any further and don't get the prompt to enter the 8 digit code shown on his device. So now we have a device that doesn't work and as far as I can tell no easy way of getting support to fix this.
Anyone got any suggestions?

Hi, I did some Googling and came across some old posts from 2023 that helped - hopefully they will work for you as I've just fixed my issue.
1. Make sure both Meta accounts (yours and your child's) are not linked to your respective Facebook accounts
2. Uninstall the Meta Horizons app from whichever device you're trying this on
3. Log out of Facebook on whichever device you're trying this on - whichever account is logged in just make sure it's logged out
4. When I did this, it didn't prompt me to confirm I was the parent and instead went straight in to prompt me for the code on my son's Quest 2 and it now works.
I really hope it fixes it for you.

Only positive thing about reading this message, is now I know that I am not crazy. Our family is 75 emails in, with the exact same issues that you are writing about and guess what we are no closer to having a solution. We have reset the Wi-Fi we have uninstalled and reinstalled we have checked the Bluetooth we have used multiple accounts and multiple Oculus we have used 3 Days of our time and currently we have non-working Oculus non-working apps not working Family Center and a 12-year-old who can't play. My final email from meta was wait until he turns 13 and call us back.

Hey @Jed1415, we understand it is exasperating to have issues with Meta account due to age restriction and we're disheartened to learn that due to this your child's VR experience has come to an abrupt halt. Therefore, we request you to send us a private message so that we can gather the necessary information and look into this issue in detail.

Yeah I sent 75 private messages amd didn't get the issue resolved.

Evelien I spent days communicating with no result. I'm going to post a video to socials tonight of the problems so that perhaps moms everywhere can brainstorm.
