Exception encountered in RiftConfigUtil

Eiksei
Honored Guest

About the problem, i just unpacked my DK2 this afternoon, installed SDK, runtime and drivers, put every cables in every holes, and, Ô hapiness, the runtime found my headset and the camera.
Next step, i created a profile inside the runtime, and tried to make the measurements with the software in order to have a quite good experience, but I had an error which forced me to force close the process. There's the text:

"Doesn't matter", I thinked. "I'll try the demo". But, I'd got the same error.
Also, the Direct HMD doesn't do anything, and the extended mode gave to me chromatique aberration, but, with this thread (viewtopic.php?f=34&t=11190&start=20), I hope the direct mode will repair this.

I'd see two threads with similaries problems, viewtopic.php?f=34&t=17928 and viewtopic.php?f=34&t=17882 , but i think they can use the demo inside the runtime. I also upload the Report and Minidump :

Confirmed working solution for crash while Direct to Rift mode in Oculus utility demo.
Exception description: ACCESS_VIOLATION executing address 0x00000000 issue
Before further steps i did plug out all the oculus cables from PC.
1) Uninstall all the nvidia stuff
2) Uninstall all the oculus stuff
3) Reboot
4) Install Nvidia 344.65 version drivers (I've tried 347.52 and 347.88 - no luck)
5) Reboot
6) install oculus stuff (I've oculus_runtime_rev_1_sdk_0.4.4_win.exe)
7) Reboot
Done.
Now i can execute oculus utility demo in direct2Rift mode.
By the way, I have windows Classic theme, not Aero..

My videocard is Nvidia GTX 970

happy VR.

I haven't used my DK2 for a bit because I was getting too many errors like this, so I decided to update my Nvidia and Rift drivers tonight...still no luck. I'm running a GTX 970, driver version 347.88, and DK2 with Rift Windows Runtime 0.5.0.1-beta. Happy to provide more details if that's useful.

I gave up on Direct mode and went to extended display mode and set up my windows "screen resolution" paramters. Now this is an acceptable solution. Tuscany demo looked good!

Working OK now - Except I must keep in mind that the "Demo" button on the config utility is poison.
If I hit it, it crashes my ocular tray icon and I must reboot my windows machine to use the rift again.

I also experience this problem (Only in direct mode)

If I build and run the OculusWorldDemo from the samples solution of the 5.0.1 SDK, I get a NULL ptr exception when the function
ovrHmd_EndFramePtr(hmd, renderPose, eyeTexture);
is executed. I suspect this is the same issue we're seeing when running the Demo in the Config tool.
I can't seem to find where ovrHmd_EndFramePtr is defined or assigned (but it is not NULL as far as I can tell), nor can I jump into it using the Debugger.

If there is a way to jump into that function please let me know so I can perhaps provide more debugging info.

My system contains a Nvidia 630M card (and a Intel onboard ship), it's a Lenovo G780 (http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/es ... tech_specs , i5-3210M, 6 GB) , windows home premium 64 bit is fully up to date, all mentioned windows patches installed, latest Nvidia drivers (350.12 at time of writing).

To build the solution I am using Visual Studio 2013 Community edition.

I hope this helps.
