*Quest 1 (v49) with Oculus Desktop (v50) Here's what got my setup running and stable:
00) update PC drivers (especially GPU) 00) backup everything (side loaded APKs will have to be reinstalled)
transition Oculus account to Meta account
log out of all Oculus apps desktop + mobile
factory reset Quest 1
uninstall/reinstall/update Oculus mobile
open Oculus mobile + log in with Meta account
setup/pair Quest with Oculus mobile
uninstall/reinstall/update Oculus desktop
Oculus desktop = click Settings > Beta > enable Public Test Channel > Restart
Oculus mobile = enable Developer Settings (factory reset turns it off)
Oculus desktop = setup Quest 1 as new device
Quest 1 = enable Link/AirLink and continue setup with desktop app
Now both Link and AirLink are connected, and desktop WebXR sites work great online and locally. Admittedly, redoing all of this from the ground up took some time and patience, but totally worth it in the end. Now I have an as-clean-as-possible fresh install of the final firmware for Quest 1.
Followed this and it solved the issue of Chrome/Edge not loading/playing Videos through AirLink on my Quest 1.
