Alright. I received an Oculus Rift S for Christmas two years ago. To set it up, you needed a Facebook account. I made a random Facebook account with a crazy name because I didn't want my actual name on the network. I play for about a year and then school rolls around and I take a break. Flash forward to 2022, I want to get back into vr. I have purchased a new vr headset and am now trying to login to Oculus. I go to login through Facebook, my account is locked. "Suspicious activity." I send a code to my phone, type in the code, it tells me that recovery option is now gone. I send a code to my email, type in the code, it tells me that recovery option is now gone. Now, I have to send in an ID. I simply cannot do this as my account is not named after my legal name. I am now stuck on this step and cannot unlock my account to play my Oculus. If I send in my actual ID, my account will simply be deleted because the ID does not match the Facebook account. I have spent money on games on that account, probably somewhere near 100$. I cannot get it to unlock, and along with that, it has also locked my instagram account because they are linked. I have attempted to recover my instagram multiple times before this, without the facebook account being locked. However, the account randomly locked unknown to me on November 4, 2022. What do I do in this situation???

The exact same thing has happened to me. And I suspect this has likely happened to tens of thousands of users, costing its users millions. I suggest we contact a lawyer capable of handling a case against Meta and we take them to court for losses. I have also paid for hundreds of dollars of businesss advertising with facebook and have now completely lost access to my business account which i developed over 5 years.
