Factory Reset Headset, Now nothing works

So I’ve been playing VR for about 5 Years at this point (Quest 1 and Quest 2). Usually about every 5-7 months I factory reset my headset as it usually helps keep things running smoothly after I’ve been using it for quite awhile. Well this time was no different, I thought my headset was starting to be a little weird so I factory reset it, but to my surprise when I did either my left or right controller would pair but that other wouldn’t. So I tried repairing them but now my left controller won’t even pair at all. Also the blue arrow that pops up when you connect the headset to the phone app won’t click either. I also tried to factory reset 2 more times and did everything again just for nothing to work. I honestly don’t know what to do at this point. Everything was working fine early this morning now it’s completely unfunctional.

Hey @Sanstheskeleton9! We would be happy to help you with troubleshooting your controllers and provide any other information to help with this. We totally understand that the controllers working properly is a critical part of the VR experience, not to mention how critical it can be when you need maximum control in the games. Let's go ahead and start out with some basic troubleshooting. If you could go ahead and try the following steps, we would really appreciate it. 

 

  • Remove unsupported third-party accessories that may affect power, battery fit, or controller detection. For example, rechargeable grips, controller covers, etc.
  • Change the controller battery and check the LED status (blinking, solid, or no light at all)

A blinking or solid light appears:

  1. Unpair and pair the controller to the headset
  2. If the pairing does not work, or no light appears, please let us know.

I have tried all of these and no results, the left controller won’t pair with my headset. When I go to pair the controller on the meta quest app, the light on the controller never pops up. I hold down the three lines button and the y button but it doesn’t do anything, I’ve tried using fresh batteries on both, I have all third party equipment removed and it still doesn’t work. Both my left and right controller both somehow lost the function of pressing down on the joystick. You can still press down but it doesn’t function in game. Not sure if that could be part of a larger problem with why the left one won’t pair/re pair. Currently can’t play due to not being able to use my left controller.
