Hi Guys
I have an issue connecting my headset to my pc. I have read a few posts on different websites and so far I have had no luck so any help would be appreciated.
I have windows 10 (not sure if that is a strike right off the bat because I cannot find anywhere the specs needed for simple file transfer from my pc to headset)
i7 8 core 10 g RAM gpu 1060 6GB RAM SSD HDD 1TB
Meta Quest 3s.
Ok
I tried a USB straight into the headset and I saw no pop-ups on the headset sol I assume that doesn't work
I tried connecting Bluetooth to see if it created some sort of 'shared folder' but I saw nothing
I tried connecting the headset to several different USB posts on my PC and no pop=up or device recognition on pc or headset
I read to to go 'settings' and then 'developer' to enable 'MTS' something or other but I have no 'Developer option in settings on my headset that I can find so I see no popus showing recognition on either device.
The cable is only 1 month old and came with the controller docking station from meta.
Any suggestions will be appreciated but please do not reply if you only have sarcasm. Remember, you didn't know how to walk until your mummy propped you up over and over and over again until you got it right. It is not healthy to berate others because now you can run.
Thank you

@RipNips you need to create a developer account, then enable developer mode in the mobile app. The dev options will then appear in the headset and you should get the USB popups in the headset when you connect the cable.

Hi
Thank you for the reply. At the risk of rolling your eyes I was wondering if you could be a little more specific. I am 60 years old and not as quick as you younger generation. Where and how do I make this developer account.

@RipNips no problem. I was just about to suggest an alternative method.

OK I still have a problem
I followed the instructions and enabled developer mode on the mobile phone account and it showed in the headset but still when I connect the headset to my pc I get no popups asking me to allow, nothing appears in 'This Pc' and there is no popup on the headset...all I want to do is transfer some movies from my pc to the headset. It does not show as a HDD device on my pc and it does not show any form of connection in the headset other than it dings when plugged in to indicate it is charging...any thoughts?

@RipNips have you enabled MTP notifications in the developer options in the headset. Sometimes a factory reset can also bump start the popups as well.

Yes MTS is enabled in the headset. It is a brand new headset, only 2 or 3 weeks old...if that

@RipNips if the factory reset doesn't work then you might be able to download sidequest using the headset browser and then use sidequest to download the app on github to enable dev mode. But we are getting into the weeds a bit with this.
