Finding position in room/lost tracking

TheMightyHermit

Hello, I’ve been experiencing this issue in the past couple days.

My quest 3 seems to lose tracking and disconnects its controllers, making it impossible to do anything.

I made sure to have the right lights on, no reflective surfaces, no IR devices, no tvs.

I did a factory reset, and the issue still remains..

Ive tried changing the frequency from 50hz to 60hz and vice versa (as well as auto), with no results to show for…

I tried fully charging the headset and changing the batteries on the controllers with the same result.

Please help… My quest 3 is useless right now! If I move my head slightly faster than normal the “finding your position “ texts just shows up and keeps spinning with the tracking off !

@TheMightyHermit what apps/games do you play. Anything that gets you to sweat a lot? There are posts on here about the damage that sweat vapour can do to headsets.

Mostly sitting down, I don't really sweat while using it, nor do I play fast paced games that will make me sweat...
I use it mostly as a monitor for my PC.

additionally, my headset has a sweat cover too...

@TheMightyHermit  perhaps a flaky camera that could be causing the issue.

I was hoping the new V76 update would've fixed the tracking issue, but still the same thing...
The worse part is that I can't even roll back to v74 since it's an android update...

@TheMightyHermit  is the headset still under warranty. If so, return it to where you purchased it from.

Well yeah, but it's quite inconvenient as I'm outside my country atm and I'm pretty sure it's software related...
Why return something that isn't broken ?

I'll wait until the next official update before consider replacing it I guess..
Warranty is due 2026, so should be fine.

@TheMightyHermit  is it just the controllers that the headset can't track or does the headset lose tracking as well and keep a fixed image in front of you no matter where you move your head?

Controllers and headset... Normally it would stay stationary when it would lose tracking, however it also keeps spinning and going around in random directions, after that, the controllers disconnect and start to vibe in sync with each other as if they are searching for the headset, this makes it unusable...

Not even sideloading different v76 versions worked so far/mixed with factory resets...
But sometimes the passthrough works for maybe like a 5 secs and then back to the floating UI.

I've tried from version 76.0.0.433.314.718892798
all the way down to 76.0.0.275.314.711332144, all with the same results...
