I have no idea where to post this since I don't see any reddit or forums for this game so sorry if this is the wrong area. I was trying to do the hook line and seeker tutorial quest and am stuck. I messed up a few times with the rod movement and the fish all disappeared. I tried leaving and returning to the pond area, but no new fish spawn to complete the quest.
I found this after Googling the issue. It looks like a bug, but it turns out it isn't! During the tutorial I found that restarting the full game causes the fish to come back.
It's silly, but the literal next step of the tutorial explains that you can throw bait into the water to "repopulate the fish". Just take it out of your inventory, holding it, and just drop it into the water. Fishies will come back.
