Fix for Sensor Disconnection Issue

We've just started rolling out a possible fix for the repeated sensor disconnection issue. This is a problem that could cause the sensor to disconnect while idle on certain hardware configurations. Although we had some trouble reproducing the exact problem in our lab, we have a good idea of what the core issue was and believe it may be resolved.

Some customers have already received the update, and everyone else should have it within a few hours. The update should happen automatically, but you'll have to just unplug and replug the sensor to reset its state.

I'd recommend people wait until later this evening to test and see if the fix actually resolves their issue. Either way, please report back so we can understand if the fix was a success. Thanks.

mines is still disconnnecting reconnecting.. my rift is currently unplayable

Any word on this Cyber? I really hope Oculus don't consider this "fix" to be the final solution?

I'm terribly sorry about this. I have been watching the reports and sending them over to the engineering team. So far we've only found 2 issues, which were the ones that were fixed with the update. It seems that there are additional issues not fixed with the update, and we'll be sure track these down. Please bear with us and very sorry for the inconvenience.

Also, it's really critical for us to get logs from every user experiencing the problem so we can figure out what's going on. The setup log is not really important, but the LogGatherer zip file is. Posted mine already in this thread. Interestingly I notice a number of people having problems are on z97 motherboards, do the logs give you hardware info. Also I and I think most others are having the disconnects when the rift is in use, I get the impression most people were having the disconnects when the rift was idle so it might be a different issue

For the purpose of testing, is there anywhere we can download Oculus home 1.6? Before the last big update in August? If that can be available to download and test on some of our PCs that would give some insight into what the potential issue is.

Hey cyber i know ive a few posts up and since im having most of the problems but still here is todays logs for oculus.. ive discontinued use until a fix is found but these logs should provide enough info hopefully for any asus z97-a owners having these problems. including the usb 2.0 showing when plugged into usb 3 bb8bdvh11mak.jpg
