Fix for Sensor Disconnection Issue

We've just started rolling out a possible fix for the repeated sensor disconnection issue. This is a problem that could cause the sensor to disconnect while idle on certain hardware configurations. Although we had some trouble reproducing the exact problem in our lab, we have a good idea of what the core issue was and believe it may be resolved.

Some customers have already received the update, and everyone else should have it within a few hours. The update should happen automatically, but you'll have to just unplug and replug the sensor to reset its state.

I'd recommend people wait until later this evening to test and see if the fix actually resolves their issue. Either way, please report back so we can understand if the fix was a success. Thanks.

I agree this isn't solely a power supply problem. For some people that may be the case, and the Rift certainly needs a steady and ample power supply, but clearly there are software conflicts with the Oculus software/firmware/drivers right now.

Hopefully we will get that update today or tomorrow.

@cybereality Update today appears to have fixed sensor disconnect - solid 1.5 hours without an issue, couldn't get 5 minutes prior to today - thanks for your work team!

I have been playing for hours without any disconnection of sensor or the HMD so far. I'll report if it comes back, looking good for now.

I got an hour without problems just now. Too early to call "fixed", but so far so good.

I had issue and in my case I plugged it in a different port. So far so good

Still getting the disconnection errors.

Okay I am starting to have my regrets in purchasing the Rift.  😞  I know you guys are trying your best in getting these issues resolved.  Please help.

Couldn't take it any longer....Boxed it up threw it in the closet......now trying to forget about the $600 wasted on this thing.

Sorry to hear that, I'd hate to have to box mine up for good, give it some time and maybe they'll have a software fix when you come back.
