Flickering Flashing pixels in Rift, but ok on my desktop

Hi ppl,

I have just received the DK2 kit by courier to rural NSW AUstralia.
It has been highly anticipated.
I had previously downloaded and installed runtime and sdk no probs.
Plugged in everything and all seems well, tracking works, detected fine, config sees connection,
Demo Scene accessed through config utility works to the desktop and to the Rift no probs. great stuff

When I try to run anything else (so far) i get pixels flashing in both monitors in the rift
but the doubled display runs as it should in the desktop representation.

When I say 'pixels flashing' I mean there's a dense band of flashing and flickering smaller pixels that runs horizontally through the middle of the rift display (both little screens) and above and below this band individual clusters of pixels seem to flash towards me flickering violently in both displays of the rift..... while (as I mentioned) everything's calm and okay on the desktop.

Any ideas?
I think it may be a resolution problem.

Blue lights are on the tracker and rift.

OK, so in addition, when I break that connection (by turning off Rift) while running the demo, the flickering stops and I get nothing showing at all in the Rift at all (blank/black) when I restart it. Restarting the config utility directly and attempting to run the demo scene restarts the flickering, so now i'm unable to view demo scene either in the rift.

To view the demo scene again I just turn off the Rift, shut down the config utility and then start up everything again and voila there's the demo scene tracking and displaying on both desktop and Rift .... but still , when I try a demo, flickering starts again.

As I haven't seen any mention of this in the forum I'm worried it may be a hardware problem.
Any suggestions anyone?

I'd recommend making a video and sending it to Oculus support.

It's likely a hardware failure and may be eligible for a replacement.
