Game Libraries have disappeard

SkidR0we

My game libraries have completely disappeared on both the quest and in the desktop app. I am not able to install or play any of my games. When I browse to a game I own in the store it says I have already purchased the item, but I am not able to play it or access it. I installed sidequest on my pc and allowed debug mode along with virtual desktop just an hour ago, but other than that I haven't changed anything. The issue occurs in both the phone app and inside the quest itself. Any thoughts?

What region are you guys in? does sound like a server but wondering how localised.

Europe

I have a theory, which is predicated on the idea these issues are regional...
  1. We know that Oculus is prohibited from directly shipping to certain countries; due to ITAR.
  2. The Commerce Department may be forcing Oculus to make technical adjustments, so that devices operated outside approved countries are "selectively bricked."
To test this theory, perhaps an affected user can try routing their home network through a VPN, that has a US exit point?

No but it would be anything, besides taking a VPN to play its games...
And a problem on their servers should not prevent access to its games if that is the case it is really rotten their system.
Personally, I’m mostly going to get reimbursed, not stay on their platform. Still
no answers from the support... I bought my games at the beginning of
the week, and I don’t have access to them since Thursday... Great..

@Rendel @Deadman1981 @aVaKus thanks for the replies. Well, it's looking less like a server then, unless it's one that's upstream of your respective countries... or there's an update going on across multiple servers.
Doesn't sound like it's a permissions thing though @wuzp but may be worth changing VPN locations just to eliminate any problematic server as the potential cause.

I'll go through some locations on my VPN just to see if my Rift library disappears.

Edit: ok done 20 locations and nothing's showing up. Maybe it doesn't matter where you are at any given time, just where your user info is stored.

I don’t have a VPN and I don’t want one and if I don’t pirate my games it is precisely not to take my head. If it’s to start struggling because of Oculus my adventure with them will end here. Just need them to pay me back.
I searched on the net and no solutions, the support does not answer and does not give any information.

Dude, don't have a conniption... in the absence of any direct answers from Oculus, we're just brainstorming ideas on how to narrow down the source of the problem.

Sorry, i'm not english, I don't understand "conniption" .
Don’t take it personally, I think it’s cool that you answer, I must have misspoke. It is this situation that is not normal, many of us have a big problem and Oculus does not even respond. We end up looking for solutions when it is up to them to do so and to answer us.

No problem.
"Conniption" ----> colère

Support got back to me. Despite explaining that the issue occurs on more than just the Quest and pointing them to this thread to show it wasn’t just me experiencing the issue, they had me do a factory reset. It didn’t work. I did it just to jump through their hoops. The last message I received is that they are investigating it further and they will get back to me in 3 to 4 business days.
I find this unacceptable but didn’t want to go off on a tech support guy. With this new time frame it puts it at a week that I have been unable to access content that I have paid for and there is no guarantee the issue will be fixed by then.

Hi ------

I don't think you understand my problem.

It seems to be a account issue, all my games and apps were gone from the Quest and from my desktop pc vr .
I also have read many others have this issue, but what worries me most is that i paid a lot of money for this software, and you can just make them unusable when servers are down?

This is very annoying since when i dont have connection i cannot play?

In the meantime the apps did appear yesterday, but were gone again after 20 min.

This morning there were back again on the Quest but still missing on the PC oculus app (witch are not the apps for the quest obviously.)

At this moment everything is back, but for how long? This does not seem to be legit or very realiable?

You got a lot of people pissed over this issue ( i mean Oculus, not you personally ofcourse.)

Regards,

Thank you for the update.

This has been resolved, I am very sorry that you had to go through this for the last couple of days.

I apologize but, you should not be seeing it disappear again.

Please let me know if there is anything else I can do to help you.

Kindly,
