I have one account on our VR that my kid has been been playing for a year. I want to convert that account to a child account so I can manage screen time. He has lots of progress in gorilla tag and rec room on my account that I don’t want him to lose. How can I keep his progress on these games after I convert my account to a child account?

Hey there everyone! We understand you have questions on converting your account to a child account to manage screen time, while saving game progress. No worries, we're here to provide you with the needed information so that you may continue your journey in the wonderful world of VR! We suggest enabling cloud backup before performing any changes to your account or device, to restore most data and game progress. Keep in mind that while Cloud Backup is available to all Meta Quest developers, it's up to developers to decide whether to enable this feature for their app and what data is backed up. After ensuring your cloud back up is on, you can log in and update the date of birth on your account by following this link. Once you have updated the date of birth, click here to get started with supervision. Also, check out this link for more information on how to set VR time limits and schedule breaks with supervision. We hope you find this information helpful! Let us know if you have any questions or concerns.

I have the exact same question/issue. Would love to know if this is possible? And if so, how to do this?

Hi! Thank you so much for this answer. Do you know how I can tell if an app has back up to cloud and what they back up? Is that information somewhere we can check?

Hi again, @safirestar. Sure thing, we're always happy to help. When cloud backup is turned on, Meta backs up your device’s app data, like app progress or app settings, to the cloud. If you follow the link we have shared here, it will let you know all the info you'll need for using cloud backup. Including how to enable it and what apps are supported. Please let us know if you have any other questions or anything else we can help with, and we would be more than happy to do so.
