Games close after a couple of minutes Oculus Link

Happens with just a couple of games, Face Your Fears, Brookhaven Experiment (Steam VR) and Paranormal Activity (Steam VR) so far: game starts normally and after a couple of minutes, freezes showing an hourglass and the game closes sending me back to Oculus/Steam home.

Any help will be appreciated, I'm using a USB-C cable with a laptop RTX3060, i9 11th.

Hello @Chavsny, games keep freezing up? This is not good, especially when it happens with your favorite titles. Let's see what we can do to help.

If you haven't tried already, please try the following steps below:

  1. Uninstall/re-install the application and Oculus App
  2. Try to do the update on whichever device you aren't using (phone vs headset).
  3. Try a different Wi-Fi network connection if possible.
  4. Factory reset

Notes:

  • Performing a factory reset is irreversible and will remove all account information, downloaded games, and content from the headset.
  • Performing a factory reset won't remove content you've purchased or downloaded from your account.

If this does not work, please submit a ticket here. Also, since it appears that you are using Oculus link, can we please get your Oculus log files. This can be done by following these instructions:

1. Open the Run window (Windows key + R).
2. Enter and run: C:\Program Files\Oculus\Support\oculus-diagnostics\OculusLogGatherer.exe
- The above link is the default directory. Bear in mind that if you installed Oculus Home to another drive you will need to update the command with the correct file path.
3. Select the checkbox next to ‘Full logs’.
4. Select "1 day" from the "Collect last" drop down list.
5. Wait for the log collection to finish. This can take some time to complete.
6. The program will automatically generate a zip file containing your logs, which will be saved to your desktop automatically.
7. Attach the newly created zip file to your next support response.

Hi. Same problem here

Hey @RozkosznaLimuzyna. We know how having an issue like this can be troubling. If you haven't already can you please try the troubleshooting steps that we provided in this thread? If doing that didn't work for you, we would like for you to follow these steps to collect your Logs.

  1. Connect the headset to the PC
  2. Find the Oculus installation directory (Generally this will be located at 'C:\Program Files\Oculus')
  3. Navigate to Support and then oculus-diagnostics
  4. Double-click OculusLogGatherer and wait for an executable to appear
  5. Select Get All Logs
  6. This will create a .zip file on the PC desktop. Attach that zip file to the reply

After you do that, please do not send them here. We don't have the tools to look into them, so we would like for you to follow this workflow on our support website to get in contact with an agent of ours.

Meta Quest software or content > Other software or content issue

After you do that, you will have the choices from an email, a live chat, a chat WhatApp or scheduled phone call to get in contact with one our agents with.
